The Red Eared Tortoise, also known as the Brazilian Tortoise, is a semi-aquatic turtle native to the southern United States. It is not a local species, but its parent was previously imported from the United States and is now the most traded species, including Malaysia.

Distribution:
Around the Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico, in warm climates in the Southeastern United States. Their native range ranges from southeastern Colorado to Virginia and Florida.


Habitat:

They inhabit areas with calm, warm water sources, such as ponds, lakes, swamps, creeks, rivers or slow-flowing rivers.
