Chicken of the Forest is a warm-blooded animal, with wings and a body covered with downy feathers. The beak of the Chicken of the Forest is toothless.

Distribution:
Widespread in tropical forests and lowlands in the Asian continent, from the Himalayas, the People’s Republic of China in the south, Southeast Asia, to Sumatra and Java. There are five known subspecies. In Indonesia, the subspecies G. g. bankiva is found in Java, Bali and Sumatra.


Habitat:

In highland mountain forest, open grassland forest (if the breeding season they often spend time in the bush forest).


Diet: 

Usually jungle fowl eats insects found around its habitat such as in palm oil fields. these animals also eat forest seeds.
