The Indian Peafowl, scientifically known as Pavo cristatus, is a majestic and iconic bird native to the Indian subcontinent. The male Indian Peafowl has a stunning iridescent blue-green crest on its head, a metallic blue body, and a train of elongated upper-tail covert feathers adorned with colorful “eye” markings. The female being primarily brown with a shorter crest.

Open forests and Scrublands.

Fruits, Seeds and Insects.
